Nicholas Vaus, Founder

Nicholas is an experienced surveyor and business leader with a track record of building businesses in Facilities Management and property advice, management and investment. Professionally qualified as a general Practice Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Managers and a Chartered Environmentalist, he advises clients in a wide range of asset management, cost management and investment opportunities.

Nicholas’ early career saw him qualify and practice as a general surveyor in Surrey, before joining CB Hillier Parker’s Shopping Centres team to manage a diverse portfolio including offices, shopping centers, retail parks and leisure complexes.

He joined Metrus in 2001, rising through the company to become an Equity Director and Board member after successfully building Pearl. This Facilities Management subsidiary tenders and administers contracts with an annual value of £36m and remains the most profitable division in the practice. Nicholas also established an FM business in Qatar in 2011, which grew rapidly to turn over £4million.

Nicholas remains an advisor to Metrus as part of a growing portfolio of roles that has seen him found The Property Company, a consulting firm for property interests mainly in the UK and Gibraltar, and also XYZ Investment, which seeks to build a portfolio of UK based properties for private investors.

Nicholas is Professionally qualified as a general Practice Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, a Member of the British Institute of Facilities Managers and a Chartered Environmentalist. His experience and contribution to the sector is recognized through his appointment as a senior examiner for RICS, assessing senior candidate merits to join the professional body.

Robert Wood, Founder

Robert is a qualified accountant who began his career with 8 years in corporate recovery at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  From there he started working in interim finance director level roles in consulting businesses and financial institutions.  In 2003 he set up a successful interim management practice called Wood McClellan Limited with a friend and former colleague which is still in operation today.  Robert’s clients have included Natwest Equities, CSFB, Schlumberger, IBM, BDO LLP, Skyguard, The Pie Guide and he continues to support various smaller private appointments.  Since 2006, Robert’s main roles have been as finance director to 6 different property funds with total assets of £325million invested in Europe and the UK.  His work focussed on liaison with lenders to keep appropriate debt in place throughout the financial crisis and after.  This involved renegotiation of debt to the value of £150million. It was while working on these Funds that Robert and Nicholas first worked together with Nicholas acting as Property Advisor to some of the Funds.  Together they developed and carried out the disposal plan which took the Funds towards termination.  It seemed natural to continue working together, and so Investas Property Limited was founded to pool our experience to help clients with their property acquisitions, and managing them until ultimate disposal.  Robert offers the services of acting as Finance Director and Company Secretary and will manage the accounting  and reporting needs of any special purchase vehicles or funds which are set up to own the properties.
